For over 18 years, a team of volunteers called the Mitten Plus Project has met at SHARE’s headquarters in Butler, WI. As they share knitting knowledge, techniques and information, Mitten Plus Project volunteers create beautiful handmade clothing and blankets which are then donated to people in need throughout the greater Milwaukee area as well as SHARE’s entire service area of Wisconsin, the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, northern Illinois and northeastern Minnesota.

The articles produced by the Mitten Plus Project are distributed at shelters, agencies and nursing homes. The articles not only provide physical warmth, but bring joy into the lives of the recipients as well. Every time a recipient uses the clothing or blanket, that person knows a member of the Mitten Plus Project put a lot of effort and love into it.

The Mitten Plus Project meets at the SHARE office on the 1st Tuesday of every month from 10am to 12pm. No experience is necessary.
