Use this recipe to whip up an elegant quiche with the bacon and spinach from the January Traditional Package...
Ingredients
1-1/2 cups half and half or milk
4 eggs, beaten
1/8 teaspoon salt
dash pepper
2 cups shredded cheese (your choice)
2 tablespoons flour
8 slices bacon, cooked crisp and crumbled
1 package frozen spinach, thawed
1 9-inch unbaked pastry shell
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Combine the milk or half and half, eggs and seasonings. Toss cheese with the flour and sprinkle it into the unbaked pastry shell. Squeeze the water out of the spinach and spread evenly over the cheese. Top with bacon (you can also add other meats or vegetables), then carefully pour egg mixture into the pie shell. Bake at 350 degrees for 40-50 minutes, or until the egg mixture is set and the top of the quiche is golden brown. Note: You can lower the fat content by using evaporated skim milk.
