Potatoes Anna is an elegant yet simple way to prepare the potatoes in the produce assortment that comes with the December Christmas Dinner Package or Traditional Package. Enjoy!
Ingredients
5 large potatoes, peeled and cut into slices about 1/4 inch thick
3 tablespoons butter
Salt and ground pepper to taste
Directions
Combine the butter, salt and pepper in a small saucepan and melt over low heat. Arrange the potato slices in layers in a well-greased 8- or 9-inch pie plate or cake pan. Start by laying potato slices in the middle, and work in a circular fashion toward the outside of the pie plate until the layer is finished. On top of each layer, pour approximately 1 tablespoon of the butter mixture. Continue by building more layers on top, covering each with butter until all of the potatoes are used. Cover the pan tightly with aluminum foil and bake in a preheated 425 degree F oven for 30 minutes. Remove the foil and cook an additional 45 minutes to one hour, until the potatoes are tender and golden brown on top. Allow to cool for five to ten minutes, drain excess butter and invert onto a serving platter. Cut into wedges to serve.
