Did you ever wish you could get SHARE food in between the regular monthly distribution days? Well, in the Metro Milwaukee area, now you can!
SHARE Express is the name of our new program which is designed to bring many of the same products and savings featured in our monthly program to convenient neighborhood locations at scheduled times throughout the month. Our goal is to reach people who may not be able to order and pay in advance as required through our regular host site network. Also, we hope to provide added convenience for SHARE members who would like to do some shopping mid-month.
Shoppers can attend any of the sale locations and buy food on a first-come-first-served basis. SHARE Express accepts cash, credit and debit cards and Quest. No personal checks can be accepted.
Currently there are four locations for the SHARE Express, but by the end of the year SHARE Express will have 18-19 stops a month. Gwen Nasgowitz, a new member of the SHARE staff, is the program coordinator. She is actively reaching out to community-based organizations to partner with us by holding monthly food sales at their locations. Because of the high cost of transportation, SHARE Express is only available in the Metro Milwaukee area. Volunteer opportunities are available!
