In early February, the Duluth News Tribune ran a front page article about the Lake Superior SHARE, just across the river in northwestern Wisconsin. The idea of saving 30-50% on food proved very popular, and within days the site grew from its usual 100 or so orders per month to over 550 orders! Luckily, this big group of volunteers came together on February’s SHARE Day to unload the truck and assemble orders. Isn’t that what SHARE is all about?!? |

Karen Arthur, leader at the Lake Superior SHARE site, was overjoyed with the opportunity to serve so many families in her community. Here Karen (center) confers with two key volunteers before the distribution begins. |

And then the magic of Lake Superior SHARE’s big February distribution started to happen. Can you believe we had to order one semi trailer just for their site? And now there are some new sites popping up in the area. Many thanks to everyone at these sites for serving their communities! |

Congratulations to these drawing winners at the Manawa host site: February Sweethearts Barb & Kelly Hamel; Family of the Month Craig & Loretta Lundt and children; and Seniors of the Month Dalbert & Rita Klingbeil. Many of the winners are key volunteers at the site, and each of them received a dinner package with items from the SHARE order form! |
