Ham Steaks & Cheesy Mashed


Ingredients:
6 potatoes
1 head of broccoli florets
2 Tablespoons cream cheese
2 Tablespoons sour cream
2 Tablespoons butter
1 Cup cheddar or Swiss cheese, shredded
4 ham steaks

Directions:
Peel and quarter the potatoes, then place them in a pot and cover with cold, salted water. Heat to a boil over medium high heat. Adjust the heat to low and boil slowly for 12 to 14 minutes or until the potatoes can be pierced with a fork and they are tender yet firm. Chop the broccoli into small pieces. Add broccoli to potatoes and cook for 2 more minutes. Drain the vegetables into a strainer and return to the pot off the heat. Add the cream cheese, sour cream, butter and shredded cheese and mash or whip with a hand mixer. Cover and keep warm. Fry the ham steaks over medium heat in a skillet. Serve with apple sauce or a sliced pear. Serves 4.
