Do you provide child care in your home to at least one child other than your own? Let the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) help! This federal program reimburses family child care providers for part of the cost of feeding kids in care. And providers who meet federal income guidelines may also claim their own children, 12 years and under.
Last year, the Wisconsin Early Childhood Association (WECA) CACFP helped Wisconsin family child care providers feed 26,000 children, reimbursing providers an average of $320 each month. WECA offers optional free online claims and direct deposit of reimbursement checks. Menus and meal planning tips are available, as well as networking and learning opportunities.
WECA is only authorized to serve licensed/certified Wisconsin family child care providers. Any Wisconsin family child care provider who has not yet joined a food program can join WECA. Call 800-783-9322, extension 7238 for more information. WECA can also help with questions about becoming licensed or certified. Or visit the WECA website at www.wisconsinearlychildhood.org and click on Food Program.
