We held out as long as we could, but beginning in August 2011 SHARE’s BIG Value Package will increase to $30 and the Mini Package will be $17.50. Higher fuel costs, bad weather and inflation all combined to cause this increase, our first since 2008. You probably noticed that we dropped the Bonus Item in May and in July the BIG Value Package will have one fewer item. Clearly we can’t keep on like this! We want to have enough value and variety on the order form to make shopping with SHARE a regular part of your food buying strategy.
As I write, we are working out the details of what will be included in the packages. The member survey we conducted earlier this year gave us some great ideas for ways to improve our offerings, such as including more heart healthy choices. You can expect some changes on the August order form to reflect this feedback.
What won’t change is our commitment to good food, great prices and strong communities. SHARE has always been about more than just the food. It’s a smart way to save money and connect with your community. I invite you to continue this tradition and tell your friends about SHARE.
