Give With A Generous Heart

by Paulette Flynn, SHARE Executive Director

When we started SHARE in the early 80s, the economy was in a slump and unemployment was high. People who had never been out of work before were trying to make it on unemployment. Sadly, this sounds all too familiar today.

In the face of this, people are tightening their budgets. Good idea! Another good idea is allocating your workplace giving donation to SHARE through the Hunger Relief Fund of Wisconsin. If you are someone who still has a job, you may be able to help others make it through these hard times. Even a small amount from each paycheck really adds up.

The Hunger Relief Fund is included in federal, state and Milwaukee-area campaigns—so you can find us in the roster of available charities. If the Hunger Relief Fund is not included, encourage your human resources department to add us. If your workplace offers the United Way of Greater Milwaukee campaign, you can find us on the back of the pledge form—look up the number and be sure to write “SHARE” next to the number.

We joined the Hunger Relief Fund because 100% of your donation will come directly to us. All administrative costs are donated by Hunger Task Force, so every penny will help end hunger in Wisconsin.

What people can always count on in hard times is one another. You can help now, and I ask you to give with a generous heart. Working together, we can be sure that people in our communities do not go without good, nutritious food. Thank you so much for sharing what you can.
